fsBioGenomica is the Institute’s first spin-off company founded in 2004. It has received a competitive 1 million euros grant from the General Secretariat of Research and Technology (Program PRAXE, Phase B’) to develop state of the art laboratories for high-throughput, quality-certified genetic testing for clinical and non-clinical applications as well as for custom-designed genotyping and mutation-screening for clinical trials and biomedical research. BioGenomica collaborates with the Institute in population genetic studies associating genetic variation to disease or other conditions. It is also a member of the PYTHIA consortium for the development of nano-engineered biosensors for use in molecular diagnostics. D. Yannoukakos, G. Nounesis, G. Pantelias and G.
